ULCERGARD will prevent the gastric ulcers in your horse. ULCERGARD is easy to give to your horse due to the cinnamon flavor of the paste. ULCERGARD is safe treatment for the prevention of gastric ulcer with no side effects reported on horse 600 pounds or grater.

How ULCERGARD works:

ULCERGARD contains omeprazole, is a gastric acid pump inhibitor that regulates and reduce gastric acid secretion of your horse stomach.

Cautions:

Please consult your veterinarian or pharmacist before your horse takes any other Prescription, Over-the-counter, vitamins or Herbal Medications.

What is ULCERGARD:

ULCERGARD is a cinnamon flavored paste recommended for the prevention of gastric ulcers in horses 600 pounds or greater. ULCERGARD comes in syringes, each syringe deliver of 6.15 g of paste with 2.28 g of omeprazole divided in 4 doses. ULCERGARD is a non prescription medication.

What I need to know about ULCERGARD:

ULCERGARD should not be used in horses intended for human consumption.

What I need to tell and ask my veterinarian if ULCERGARD is recommended to my horse:

If your veterinarian recommend ULCERGARD to your horse, before treatment start, comment with your vet any knowledge you may have about your horse is pregnant or lactating.

Indications for this drug:

Follow strictly the indications as your veterinarian gives you about this medication. ULCERGARD is indicated for prevention of gastric ulcers in horses 600 pounds or great. The recommended dosage of ULCERGARD paste is 1 mg/kg per day (0.45 mg/lb) or 1/4 syringe orally once-a-day. ULCERGARD is recommended in horses exposed to stressful conditions which may include: training, racing, showing, traveling, stall confinement, and competition.

What I should do if 1 dose is skipped:

Continue with the following dose, do not give two doses at once.

What I should do if my pet suffer an overdose:

Call or Visit your nearest veterinary emergency center immediately.

During the treatment:

Call your veterinarian about any other medication you may want to give to your horse. Store ULCERGARD at room temperature, between 59°-86° F (15°-30° C).

Side Effects of ULCERGARD:

I use this product in some of my horses (the most sucettibles to stress) as preventative medication. Up to now I have no gastric problems in those horses due to stress.

I think it works as preventative. I have been using it in my most stressful horses with good results.
