TRIFEXIS and your Dog:
TRIFEXIS(spinosad and milbemycin oxime) is a chewable beef flavored tablet formulated to provide a minimum spinosad dose of 13.5 mg/lb (30 mg/kg) and a minimum milbemycin oxime dose of 0.2 mg/lb (0.5 mg/kg) to your dog. Spinosad is an insecticide and Milbemycin oxime is an anthelmintic, TRIFEXIS is indicated for the prevention of heartworms in your dog, kills fleas and prevent flea infestations. Also is indicated in the treatment and control of adult hookworm, adult roundworm and adult whipworm infections in dogs and puppies 8 weeks of age or older and 5 pounds of body weight or greater.

How TRIFEXIS works:
TRIFEXIS(spinosad and milbemycin oxime). Prolonged spinosad-induced hyperexcitation results in prostration, paralysis and flea death. Milbemycin oxime, a component of TRIFEXIS, acts by binding to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels in invertebrate nerve and muscle cells. Increased permeability by the cell membrane to chloride ions causes hyperpolarization of affected cells and subsequent paralysis and death of the intended parasites.

What is TRIFEXIS:
TRIFEXIS is a chewable beef flavored tablet. Trifxis is for puppies 8 weeks of age or older and 5 pounds of body weight or greater up to 120 pounds. TRIFEXIS kills fleas and is indicated for the prevention and treatment of flea infestations,treat and control adult hookworm, adult roundworm and adult whipworm.
What I need to know about TRIFEXIS CHEWABLE TABLETS:
Use TRIFEXIS with caution in breeding females. Use with caution in dogs with pre-existing epilepsy. If you give TRIFEXIS to your puppie less than 14 weeks of age may experience a higher rate of vomiting.
What I need to tell and ask my veterinarian if TRIFEXIS is prescribe to my dog:
If your veterinarian prescribe TRIFEXIS to your dog, comment any allergy or reaction the dog may have tospinosad and milbemycin oxime or any other medication. Also comment with your vet about your dog may be pregnant. Advice your Veterinarian if during treatment your dog have symptoms of vomiting.
Indications for this drug:
Follow strictly the indications as your veterinarian gives on your prescription. The recommended dosage of TRIFEXIS is 13.5 mg/lb (30 mg/kg) spinosad and 0.2 mg/lb (0.5 mg/kg) milbemycin oxime body weight monthly orally.
What I should do if 1 dose is skipped:
Continue with the following dose, do not give two doses at once.
What I should do if my pet suffer an overdose:
Call or Visit your nearest veterinary emergency center immediately.
During the treatment:
Call your veterinarian about any other medication you may want to give to your dog. Keep your dog hydrated, Store TRIFEXIS at room temperature, between 59°-86° F (15°-30° C).
Side Effects of TRIFEXIS:
Your dog may experience vomiting, pruritus, lethargy, diarrhea, dermatitis, skin reddening, Pinnal Reddening.
