Duralactin is a nutritional aid intended for long term management of inflammatory processes in dogs and cats.


Duralactin contains MicroLactin, a dried milk protein concentrate from the hyperimmunized cows. MicroLactin contains factors that block and inhibit the inflammatory processes in the body.


Inflammation is the central process behind various injuries, infections and irritations. It can be limited on the certain area of the body or generalized response to the inflammation with fever, exhaustion and lethargy. Inflammation follows injuries such as foreign objects, burns, scrapes; infections such as bronchitis, cystitis or dermatitis; or irritations such as chemical injuries or radiation effects. Chronic inflammation is common in long lasting pathological processes that the body is unable to heal successfully, such as osteoarthritis or chronic bowel disease.

3. What are side effects of Duralactin?

a) Duralactin rarely causes side effects. Animals with intolerance to milk proteins or carbohydratesDuralactin may be suffering from diarrhea or vomiting when taking Duralactin. If  any of those symptoms appear, stop administering Duralactin and seek veterinary advice.

4. What drugs interact with Duralactin?

a) There are no recorder interactions with any other drugs. Duralactin is safe to use with other prescription drugs.

5. What animals benefit from Duralactin administration?

a) Duralactin effectively inhibits inflammatory processes in the body, without interfering with other medications or causing any serious adverse reactions. It is the choice treatment for long term management of chronic processes such as osteoarthritis and works as a sufficient replacement of NSAIDs or corticosteroids.

6. What in case of accidental overdose?

a) Stop administering Duralactin and seek veterinary help immediately. Overdose is usually accompanied by severe gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea. To avoid overdosing your pet, follow veterinary instructions for dosing and administration.

Animals allergic to milk proteins or carbohydrates should not be using Duralactin.

There is no generic equivalent of Duralactin available on the market.


Duralactin contains MicroLactin, a concentrated dried milk protein from hyperimmunized cows. MicroLactin contains ingredients that block inflammatory response on the molecular and cellular level. Specifically, it blocks inflammation mediator, cytokine, and that way prevents neutrophils from participating in the inflammatory process. Neutrophils are white blood cells important in inflammation. Excess neutrophil infiltration can sometimes lead to tissue damage. MicroLactin prevents that infiltration.


Duralactin does not need to be prescribed by a licensed veterinarian. However, it should be used according to the veterinary and product label instructions. In case you don’t understand how to use Duralactin, consult with your veterinarian or pharmacist. Duralactin for dogs is available in the form of vanilla flavored tablets that are palatable to most dogs. Duralactin for cats is available in the form of capsules that can be broken down and sprinkled over the food.


Duralactin tablets or capsules can be administered directly or with food.

The recommended dosage for dogs lighter than 40 lb is ½ a tablet twice daily. For dogs between 40 and 80 lb, administer 1 tablet twice daily and for dogs between 80 and 120 lb the recommended dose is 1 and a ½ tablets twice a day. Cats up to 12 lb should take 1 capsule of Duralactin twice daily and cats heavier than 12 lb are given 2 capsules in the morning and one in the evening.

Active ingredient of Duralactin is MicroLactin (dried milk protein concentrate). Every tablet for dogs contains 1000 mg of MicroLactin. Inactive ingredients of Duralactin tablets for dogs are dextrose, stearic acid, vanilla flavor and magnesium stearate.

Every Duralactin capsule for cats contains 200 mg of MicroLactin. Inactive capsule ingredients include magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide and microcrystalline cellulose.
