CYCLOSPORINE (cyclosporine capsule) MODIFIED is an oral capsules that acts as a cyclic polypeptide, immune modulating agent, controlling atopic dermatitis in your dog. CYCLOSPORINE is formulated to provide your dog with a minimum dose of 5 mg/kg/day (3.3-6.7 mg/kg/day) as a single daily dose for 30 days.

What is CYCLOSPORINE:

CYCLOSPORINE (cyclosporine capsules USP) MODIFIED is an oral capsule recommended for the treatment of atopic dermatitis in dogs 6 weeks of age and older and weighing at least 9 lbs of body weight.

What I need to know about CYCLOSPORINE:

Your dog may be suffering atopic dermatitis and you may not know, some of the atopic dermatitis symptoms include hair loss, gnawing, scratching, licking, chewing, and itching. CYCLOSPORINE is a prescription medication. CYCLOSPORINE is an oral capsule your veterinarian may prescribe to treat atopic dermatitis on your dog. CYCLOSPORINE suppress your dog immune system, is important for you to know about the susceptibility to infection and the development of neoplasia your dog is expose while getting this medication. CYCLOSPORINE is not a corticosteroid or an antihistamine. Do not combine CYCLOSPORINE with drugs such as ketoconazole, and methylprednisolone this may develop side effects and reaction on your dog.

What I need to tell and ask my veterinarian if CYCLOSPORINE is prescribe to my dog:

If your veterinarian prescribe CYCLOSPORINE to your dog, comment if your dog is less than 6 months of age or less than 4 lbs body weight. CYCLOSPORINE is not for use in breeding dogs, pregnant or lactating bitches. Also comment with your if your dog had any history of chronic illness, renal failure condition, any tumor your dog may had in the past, and if your dog just passed any infection episode.

Indications for this drug:

Follow strictly the indications as your veterinarian gives on your prescription. CYCLOSPORINE is indicated for the control of atopic dermatitis in dogs weighing at least 4 lbs body weight and more than 6 months of age. CYCLOSPORINE should be given to your dog at least one hour before or two hours after a meal. The recommended dosage of CYCLOSPORINE is orally 5 mg/kg/day (3.3-6.7 mg/kg/day) as a single daily dose for 30 days. Do not give CYCLOSPORINE more frequent than once daily.

What I should do if 1 dose is skipped:

Continue with the following dose, do not give two doses at once.

What I should do if my pet suffer an overdose:

Call or Visit your nearest veterinary emergency center immediately.

During the trealtment:

Call your veterinarian about any other medication you may want to give to your dog. CYCLOSPORINE is a systemic immunosuppressant that may expose your dog easily to infection and the development of tuors, Store CYCLOSPORINE at room temperature, between 59°-86° F (15°-30° C).

Side Effects of CYCLOSPORINE:

Your dog may experience vomiting, diarrhea, otitis externa, urinary Infection, anorexia, lethargy, gingival hyperplasia lymphadenopathy. If during the treatment you have additional questions or concerns about your pet and CYCLOSPORINE please contact your veterinarian or pharmacist and they will assist you with the accurate answer.

Directions:

Cyclosporine (modified) is a selective immunomodulator used for the treatment of atopic dermatitis in dogs and cats 6 months and older and at least 4.5 lbs.
Cyclosporine (modified) is available as 25mg, 50mg, and 100mg blister packs, each containing 30 capsules.
Tip: Do not remove capsule from blister pack until required for use. When the capsule is removed from the blister pack there is a characteristic, noticeable smell which is normal.
Dosage:
Pet Weight Dosage
Dogs/Puppies: (6 months and older) Over 4 lbs Give 2.5mg per pound of body weight. The medication is usually given once a day to start until satisfactory improvement is seen, usually 4-8 weeks. The medication can then be given every other day until the clinical signs of atopic dermatitis are satisfactorily controlled, then the medication can be given every 3 or 4 days. Always give 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. Allow plenty of water for the pet to drink
Cats/Kittens:(6 months and older) Over 4 lbs Give 2.3-3.1mg per pound of body weight. The medication is usually given once a day to start until satisfactory improvement is seen, usually 4-8 weeks. The medication can then be given every other day until the clinical signs of atopic dermatitis are satisfactorily controlled, then the medication can be given every 3 or 4 days. Always give 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. Allow plenty of water for the pet to drink

Storage: Store this product at room temperature. Some variation in the color of the powder may occur from batch to batch.
