PRODUCT INFO
Cholodin is a chewable dietary supplement that helps remedy various conditions in senior dogs.
WHAT THIS PRODUCT CURES
It has been recommended by veterinarians for age-related problems, including fatigue, poor coat, constipation, inappropriate urination, poor appetite, and poor mental performance.

PET SYMPTOMS
Old age takes a toll of dogs just as it would in humans. Fatigue, mentality problems, poor appetite, inability to control bladder or bowel movements are just a few inconvenient problems which canines are faced with in their senior years.

Poor appetite is a common problem all species of elderly mammals are faced with. When a dog is young, the body desires a constant consumption of food for the growing body. Once the body has matured, it no longer requires a high intact of raw energy hence the decrease in appetite. This poor appetite leads to poor hair coat and stigma.

Urinary incontinence refers to the inability to control urinary flow. In a healthy dog the brain, neuron receptors, and bladder work together to relive a pet with a full bladder. The filtrated waste product remains within the bladder by muscular sphincters. These sphincters will contract in waves when the bladder fills; sending messages to the receptor organs, telling the brain to release muscle contractions. Over time two problems occur: the muscles which yield the urine loose strength causing urine to be released freely and the nerves which regulate the stimulation of the bladder wall and message the brain to allow urine elimination are inconsistent.

Constipation in an older pet is caused by a similar problem as urinary incontinence. The small and large intestines are long, hollow organs which use a squeezing element to move waste products to the rectum. As a dog becomes older, the muscles in the intestines weaken, healthy flora which once aided bowel movement is no longer present, and the diet has changed.

PET AILMENTS
Poor hair coat, a decrease in appetite, dietary problems, bowel movement deficiency, inappropriate urination, and decrease in mental stability are problems.

BRAND VS GENERIC COMPARISON
Cholodin is a non-prescription (OTC) product available as scored, chewable tablets. Cholodin is manufactured as the name brand but can be sold generically under the same name.  The generic form can be used in dogs. These products contain the same active ingredient but cost less and can contain more per container. Generic forms of this product however are not issued by veterinarian and storage regulations are variable. Name brand has a higher reliance rate and is veterinarian recommended.
