BAYTRIL and your Dog and Cat:
BAYTRIL (enrofloxacin) is an antibiotic that works against respiratory and urinary infections. It is rapidly absorbed from the digestive tract, penetrating into all measured body tissues and fluids. In many cases BAYTRIL works effectively against bacteria resistant to other antibiotics.

What is BAYTRIL:
BAYTRIL (enrofloxacin) is a chemotherapeutic drug from the class of the quinolones. It is an antibacterial against Gram negative and Gram positive bacteria and is available in taste tablets in three sizes 22.7, 68.0 and 136.0 mg.

What I need to know about BAYTRIL:
BAYTRIL is available in taste chewable tablets, injection, and otic suspension. BAYTRIL is a prescription medication, approved to be used in dogs and cats. Do not use BAYTRIL in small and medium breeds of dogs during the rapid growth phase (between 2 and 8 months of age), in large breeds up to one year of age, and the giant breeds for up to 18 months.

What I need to tell and ask my veterinarian if BAYTRIL is prescribe to my dog:
If your veterinarian prescribe BAYTRIL to your dog, comment if your dog or cats have any known hypersensitive to quinolones. Comment to your veterinarian any known ocular condition your dog or cat may have before BAYTRIL treatment start.

Indications for this drug:
Follow strictly the indications as your veterinarian gives on your prescription. BAYTRIL is indicated for dermal infections (wounds and abscesses), respiratory infections (pneumonia, tonsillitis, rhinitis); and urinary cystitis. The recommended dosage of BAYTRIL is 5-20 mg/kg (2.27 to 9.07 mg/lb) of pet body weight.

What I should do if 1 dose is skipped:
Continue with the following dose, do not give two doses at once.

What I should do if my pet suffer an overdose:
Call or Visit your nearest veterinary emergency center immediately.

During the trealtment:
Call your veterinarian about any other medication you may want to give to your dog. BAYTRIL treatment should be for at least 2-3 days beyond cessation of clinical signs. For severe and/or complicated infections, more prolonged therapy, may be required. If you do not see improvement within five days, your pet should be reevaluated. Store BAYTRIL at room temperature, between 59°-86° F (15°-30° C).

Side Effects of BAYTRIL:
Your dog may experience anorexia, diarrhea, vomiting, elevated liver enzymes, ataxia, seizures, depression, lethargy, and nervousness If during the treatment you have additional questions or concerns about your pet and BAYTRIL please contact your veterinarian or pharmacist and they will assist you with the accurate answer.

My vet prescribes baytril for my dogs skin condition. It has helped al lot, so I would recommend this medication.

My dog has had frequent urinary tract infections all of her life and this medicine is prescribed by her vet when she has an infection. This medicine works well to treat this infection. The pill also has a flavor that my dog likes.
