BC2A Branched chain amino acids are used in emergency rooms across America to reduce the associated trauma on humans. Severe liver and muscular protein degradation during these life-threatening conditions are well documented. Research showed that if extra branch chains could be suppled orally and readily absorbed into the bloodstream, they would retard lactic acid build up - also associated problem during exercise. Further studies with an oral paste developed an understanding of the absorption rate in horses; its effect on lowering their heart rates during training and its ability to prevent lactic acid build up and to assist in recovery from strenuous exertion.
