ATOPICA and your Dog:
ATOPICA (cyclosporine) MODIFIED is an oral capsules that acts as a cyclic polypeptide, immune modulating agent, controlling atopic dermatitis in your dog. ATOPICA is formulated to provide your dog with a minimum cyclosporine dose of 5 mg/kg/day (3.3-6.7 mg/kg/day) as a single daily dose for 30 days.

ATOPICA reduces and improve conditions as pruritus and skin lesions to derive a Canine Atopic Dermatitis. ATOPICA do not contains any steroid and for this reason is a safe dermatitis treatment for your dog.

How ATOPICA works:
ATOPICA (cyclosporine) has been shown to work as suppressant and inhibitor of of T-helper and T-suppressor cells, this two are involved in allergic reactions affecting your dog.

What is ATOPICA:
ATOPICA (cyclosporine capsules USP) MODIFIED is an oral capsule recommended for the treatment of atopic dermatitis in dogs 6 weeks of age and older and weighing at least 4 lbs of body weight.

What I need to know about ATOPICA:
Your dog may be suffering atopic dermatitis and you may not know, some of the atopic dermatitis symptoms include hair loss, gnawing, scratching, licking, chewing, and itching. ATOPICA is a prescription medication. ATOPICA is an oral capsule your veterinarian may prescribe to treat atopic dermatitis on your dog. ATOPICA suppress your dog immune system, is important for you to know about the susceptibility to infection and the development of neoplasia your dog is expose while getting this medication. ATOPICA is not a corticosteroid or an antihistamine. Do not combine ATOPICA with drugs such as ketoconazole, and methylprednisolone this may develop side effects and reaction on your dog.

What I need to tell and ask my veterinarian if ATOPICA is prescribe to my dog:
If your veterinarian prescribe ATOPICA to your dog, comment if your dog is less than 6 months of age or less than 4 lbs body weight. ATOPICA is not for use in breeding dogs, pregnant or lactating bitches. Also comment with your if your dog had any history of chronic illness, renal failure condition, any tumor your dog may had in the past, and if your dog just passed any infection episode.

Indications for this drug:
Follow strictly the indications as your veterinarian gives on your prescription. ATOPICA is indicated for the control of atopic dermatitis in dogs weighing at least 4 lbs body weight and more than 6 months of age. ATOPICA should be given to your dog at least one hour before or two hours after a meal. The recommended dosage of ATOPICA is orally 5 mg/kg/day (3.3-6.7 mg/kg/day) as a single daily dose for 30 days. Do not give ATOPICA more frequent than once daily.

What I should do if 1 dose is skipped:
Continue with the following dose, do not give two doses at once.

What I should do if my pet suffer an overdose:
Call or Visit your nearest veterinary emergency center immediately.

During the trealtment:
Call your veterinarian about any other medication you may want to give to your dog. ATOPICA is a systemic immunosuppressant that may expose your dog easily to infection and the development of tuors, Store ATOPICA at room temperature, between 59°-86° F (15°-30° C).

Side Effects of ATOPICA:
Your dog may experience vomiting, diarrhea, otitis externa, urinary Infection, anorexia, lethargy, gingival hyperplasia lymphadenopathy. If during the treatment you have additional questions or concerns about your pet and ATOPICA please contact your veterinarian or pharmacist and they will assist you with the accurate answer.


DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

ATOPICA is an oral medication for dogs weighing at least 4 lbs body weight.

Give ATOPICA to your dog at least one hour before or two hours after a meal. If you missed to give a dose to your dog, do not double the next dose, just gice it as soon as possible. /do not give ATOPICA to your dog more frequent than once daily.

 

 

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

Start giving ATOPICA to your dog with 5 mg/kg/day (3.3-6.7 mg/kg/day) once daily for 30 days. Ther after 30 days ATOPICA may be tapered by decreasing the frequency of dosing to every other day or two times a week, until a minimum frequency is reached which will maintain the desired therapeutic effect. As follow we represent the dose based on your dog body weight.

ATOPICA is a soft gelatin capsules that contains cyclosporine MODIFIED, supplied in boxes filled with 15 capsules blisters as follows:

 

ATOPICA 10 mg: oval, white capsules imprinted with red “NVR 10”.

ATOPICA 25 mg: oval, blue-gray capsules imprinted with red “NVR 25mg”.

ATOPICA 50 mg: oval, white capsules imprinted with red “NVR 50mg”.

ATOPICA 100 mg: oval, blue-gray capsules imprinted with red “NVR 100mg”.

This is a really fast acting product, the results are really good. Kiki is was diagnose with Atopic dermatitis 2 years ago, we have been using differnt thigs including steroids with different results but after using Atopica, every thing change, the symptoms are almost nule. We started with every-other-day dose and now we use twice-weekly dosing.
